Enlarged Pores
Enlarged pores are primarily caused by excess sebum (oil) within the pores. Our skin naturally produces oil to keep it moisturized and to protect its natural barrier. The oil glands in the skin produce sebum, which moves upward to the more superficial (outer) layers. When there is an overproduction of oil, it mixes with surrounding dead skin cells, leading to congestion in the pores and making them appear larger.
